The Queen

Today in my CSR309 class we watched the movie "The Queen". This movie showed me that as a leader you need to be openminded when it comes to new ways of doing things. Just because one style of leadership has worked for awhile does not mean that it is always going to work. Also the movie showed me that you can't let your personal bias against someone or something get in the way of being an effective leader. In the movie the Queen of England lets her personal feelings toward Princess Diana get in the way of seeing that the people of England needed her to help them get over the loss of someone that was very important to them. Once the Queen realizes that even though her and Diana might not have always got along she was an important person and needed to be shown the respect that she deserved.

  1. Its sounds like you understood exactly what Feinberg wanted us to get those first days of class. It was obvious that this class was not going to be like every other class we have ever had here at Purdue. I think by this point we had not even met Feinberg yet.

You’re right that being an open-minded person is very important for a leader. I think that’s an important lesson to remember from “The Queen;” even though she did not like Diana, the rest of the country did and that’s who she had to represent as a leader. I like how you point out that the Queen’s style of leadership had to change during the movie. You did a good job of analyzing the important leadership aspects of this movie.
